It's Saturday night and we want to thank you for praying for our trip because God blessed us with an uneventful trip. We did not have any delays and arrived safe and sound in London this morning just as the sun was rising. We were greeted at the airport, as expected by our hired driver. We did not expect him to be driving a Mercedes Van! Lovely! The girls enjoyed driving on the "correct"side of the road.Our hotel is the Tower Guoman which is located right next to the Tower Bridge. It is in the financial district with a Starbucks right outside the front door. Hallie and Amy took a sleeping pill on the trip and found out that it doesn't mix very well with the Sudafed that they take for their ears. Needless to say, No Sleep! Knowing that we needed to stay up all day to keep our clocks running smoothly, we checked into our hotel and hit the streets. We ate at a restaurant near the hotel which was much better than the food served on the airplane. With food in our bellies, we came back to the hotel for orientation and then started out for some sightseeing. It was a pretty good walk to the nearest tube station but we figured the walking and stairclimbing might help us stay slim and trim while vacationing. We figured out the tube pretty quickly and headed for Harrods, the big department store here. Harrods apparently doesn't have sales very often and today was the BIG sale, evidenced by the hordes of people in the store. We made our way around, bumping into people right and left and decided that we really didn't NEED anything bad enough to stay in there. There were lots of little shops outside with lots of sales. Before long, we really began to feel the weariness in our bones and back to the tube we went. Gaiten and Hallie both passed out on the tube on the way back to the hotel and had supper in their jammies in their room. Sara Beth and I ate at a restaurant downstairs that was very good. Amy fell asleep while waiting for dinner, listening to Sara Beth talk about some of the options for sightseeing in the next few days. She really isn't that boring, it's just the jetlag. Tomorrow is the day to SEE London from the motorcoach provided by the tour. We are looking forward to Mr. Danny's favorite way to see a new place and hope that we get enough sleep to enjoy it.
